STRONG LOOK
Today I was off and woke up with a sore throat. I did start last night, but unravelled it all again. Officially though, I made myself a new neck warmer thing while teaching myself to crochet. What more can a girl want in one item: frills, chunky wool, pompoms and the best button ever. I want to get into Liberty tomorrow and buy some more wool cause I have an idea for making another one.
This button I bought in a whole gang of them which I have kept in a jar for ages.
Off, it isn't such a strong look and I think it does look better with a towel head. I used alpaca wool.
Anyway - crocheting is fun and if you use thick wool and a 12 mm hook it goes super fast. Unlike these mittens I made once for Paul.
"Good Wife Mittens"
This is from my old website.
"here are some mitten that i knitted for paul. now that i am married i am not sure i would bother doing such a thing but let's see.
a knitting hobby is a good one to pick up - it puts you in great company with supermodels and pop stars who are all keen to get their needles out.
for these mittens i used pure wool on two metal needles - acrylic wool makes a bad noise on metal needles. the actual farisle design i just made up as i went along. the pattern i used [and reproduced below] i just googled from the internet."
You can see the pattern here.
