GIVE PIZZA A CHANCE

New Problem Solvers video from Paperrad

"This could be the best day ever. I'm not being negative, this could be the best day of our lives."

Also, here we have a snippet from one of my favourite shows when I was growing up - The Curiosity Show. This one is from the 80's but I was watching it from when I was way younger - like back when I was still into FatCat. I can tell this one is from the 80's because of Deane's Canterbury Rugby shirt. It is a Harlequin one - and I also had one of this when I was at high school for wearing during P.E. classes. Which I hated. Anyway basically The Curiosity Show was these two nerds doing science experiments on afternoon kids TV. I would say very similar to CSI in a way. The them song to The Curiosity Show was also very cool and quite trippy. Not the Nickelodeon version from later years FYI.

And here is Fat Cat:

A NICHE DISTRACTION

So I just ate a muffin with the Confiture de Châtaigne I brought back from Paris ages ago from the little place at the back of the market who's name I forget right now quite shittily. Châtaigne are sweet chestnuts. I just had an online conversation with Deano about The Wombles and did they eat chestnuts. I felt really guilty for getting him involved in such a twee and ridiculous conversation when I don't care so much anyway. The confiture however - is INCREDIBLE.

We also had a brief conversation about T2 - he sent me the link for this:

I don't think he will be spinning it any time soon. Nor me. I liked Heartbroken.

It says in the description for 'Gonna Be Mine' that the two girls, Addictive are 20 and 21. I don't believe it. One of them looks as old as me. The one with the silver boob tube. The thing I like about this kind of music is that 1] it is a distraction from wanting to go back to the kitchen and eat another muffin and 2] it kind of reminds me of 2Unlimited except for 2008 - like after it got rung through the drawers of like 50 Cent after he sweated it out on stage doing 'In Da Club' or something. I remember when Pure Groove was the UK Garage shop in North London instead of the white leather belt hipster zone that is is today and being on a train with EDMX and Nick from Rephlex making jokes about speed garage. If I was still in pleasant conversation with Nick, that must have been years ago. [Long before I claimed the mechanicals due to me from the company which didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped.]

See another 5 minutes have passed and I didn't eat more confiture.

Here is another blast from the past. Nervous Stephen gave this to me for my birthday one year. Well from the message on the back I guess he missed my birthday by a week. I found this and decided to put it on the wall again. I used to date Stephen you know [also a long time ago].

This picture is another birthday picture. I picked it up in Hamburg last time I was there and I will frame it and put it somewhere in the house. I used to have a framed mirror printed with Rocky on it above the toilet but it used to put all the guys off peeing so I had to move it. I won't put this in the loo OR in the bedroom I guess.

Behind this postcard is part of a Paperrad silkscreen that is meant to be cut into business cards for some art fair in Miami. I love it so much cause Dracula is on his lap top. That is the best part. The postcard in front is the best postcard and piece of New Media Art ever. I bought it on Tottenham Court Road.

Of all the more interesting things I could post on Gumtree, I was considering posting a wanted ad for a 160cm square piece of vintage floor vinyl or set of Dalsouple rubber tiles. [That is only 5 tiles!] It is for my bathroom. If anyone has anything like that, let me know. Or if you have a link to a website for a dealer specialising in vintage floor vinyl please give it up!

Toadfish is a total bogan [The Simpsons]

THE MOST HILARIOUS THING I HAVE SEEN IN AGES. Jacob showed me and we were talking like Toadfish for the rest of the day. And they way Homer says "Marge, You are breaking my heart!" is a real tear jerker.

You can find more of the Famicon peeps who made this here.

Did I marry a homo?

Last night was Paul's exhibition opening at Seventeen and the gallery was rammed. Every time I turned around tho' Paul was talking to a different old guy with a pierced ear who was staring at Paul rather too intently. Philipa Cardinal said that it was perhaps Paul's outfit was a little suggestive of that of a rent boy.

My favourite piece is this:

Video Compression Study 1
Paul B Davis and Jacob Ciocci

This one is the mash up of two sets of data from two separate YouTube videos using Paul's fucked up keyframe technique. It's hot.

I also like this:

Inside Edition
Paul B Davis

This one is a hacked NES cart. It's hot.

Later on over the road at Jaguar Shoes, we had a really great time:

Paul was thrilled, and Silverlink and I discussed hair care tips and styling issues cause as Silverlink noted, he and I have very simlar hair. One thing for sure is that Silverlink really needs to work on his Photoface[TM] - I have got Photoface[TM] DOWN these days.

Through the journey of the evening I heard that Prancehall has started playing Blondie records - in particular Heart of Glass is a favourite of his. This was the source of great mirth. At the same time I was told this Prancehall actually walked in but so did Silverlink I went over to say hi to Silverlink and Prancehall came to talk to who I was just talking to. Not sure if it was a dual Air-Pie cause apparently I'm still in trouble for saying he PHYSICALLY has a big head or just one of those social circumstances. Anyway - this thing about Blondie - that's not all I heard but the rest is under wraps for now.

I saw ASBO D at the exhibition too. He came up to me and though he didn't officially apologise for calling me cunt, his first track he DJed at the Jaguar Shoes afterparty was my remix for Puss. He also said that I was far more musically talented than Paul.

It was nice to spend time with Philippa hearing news from her travels and tales of amazing food. Apparently her syphalitic cat is still well and survived her absence. OMG - brain clicked back into gear - she told me that XXCENSOREDXX used to stroke the beard of XXCENSOREDXX who uses bikini clippers on his beard and say that XXCENSCORED'SXX beard feels just like XXCENSORED'SXX pussy hair. Lord.

Alex Tea was also present, after having some root canal work.

There is something really sexual about this picture. I think it is the seam line down the roof of his mouth that does it to me.

And finally - latest neighbourhood news is that local store Pure Groove that used to be the epicentre of UK Garage and 2 Step, now more useful record store, had a display in their window of BOY BETTER KNOW t's. [You know - the ones that everyone on Prancehall's blog wears] Unfortunately for them some local lad ran in and swiped the lot. While I was in Pure Groove browsing the other day there were THREE enquiries in 30 minutes from people wanting to buy these t's.

TOO EXCITED

So going back to dinner at Philippa's, we were talking about Extreme Animals that she is hoping to have come perform as part of the their tour I think in Summer. AWESOME. I can't wait to see Jacob again. There are just some things that Jacob understands so I'm really looking forward to acting a retard with him. And the Extreme Animals shows are going to be SUPER HYPE SHOWERFACE VIBES BRAAAAP. I was with them in Holland at WORM and I loved it. I met that dude e*rock though and we had a big fight over a Felix Kubin record... Anyway that is another story.

Cool Paperrad video I didn't see on YouTube before.

Brains just came in and told me about our home delivery dinner that I was waiting for him to bring in "Now if that's cold then my name is Ricky Ponting." He is more Australian than me sometimes.
