Now I'm here in my PJ's having my favourite dinner of green crazy beans with german sauerkraut and hot dogs. This week was a busy one and I'm looking forward to doing nothing.

We got that good news at work today that Jo-Jo doesn't have thrush like she told everyone, but has another gyneo "disease". She's happily 3 months pregnant and gonna have a baby!!!

I found out that XXCENSOREDXX has been having sex at the disabled toilets at their work. And FYI more often than not those toilets smell really bad - so you don't know how dark that is!! I also found out that XXCENSOREDXX had sex across a bar in the East End the other night with XXCENSOREDXX. It was high fives all round when she told us that. Some good gossip.

This song is from a Belgian group in 1982 and it is incredible. I got my copy of the 12" from a guy called Rico in Brussels. I have been in love with this song for a long time. Then I decided with my band, The Fonts, to cover Poupée Flash [Shiny Doll]. You can hear the cover of the song on The Fonts MySpace page. Look out from the aditional bugged out rap by MC Tighty Whitey. He's really smuggling plums.

I have said it often enough, and so in lieu of anything more eventful happening today other than Nick phoning me at work to say that the SEO report he sent over no-one had responded to him yet, here are some examples of the work I do.

It didn't take much egging on to enter this into a Wimmins Film Festival recently that were looking at alternate ways of treating video. The account I created to host these videos on YouTube "brendanthecat" receives quite a lot of interest with people sending me notes on how they would like me to shoot the next lot of videos. I would say these guys have spent more time checking the videos than the film festival lot.

Erotic was the second piece like this I created, the first one uses found YouTube videos online. Unfortunately the javascript crashes most browsers so big up yourself if you are using OSX Firefox with blah blah shitsville. This next work is optimised for PC's running Windows XP Home Edition view in IE. [And even bigger and genuine up if it doesnt work cause you are running and iMac with OS9.2]

Which got me thinking about the TV series Monkey that was on in Australia every day after school year in and year out. I have the album from the band Godiego who wrote the them song. They have a song called "Asiatic Fever". The lyrics go like this:

I looked up the video and found the Japanese version and it was cool to watch the opening sequence and listen to the man speak Japanese but know EXACTLY what he was saying: "Elemental forces cause the egg to hatch..." etc. BUT when the stone Monkey old as creation springs from the egg I was in for a real surprise!! The version I had grown up with had been re-edited.


When I was in Tokyo once there were cardboard cut-outs of Pigsy [the ORIGINAL one] as the real life dude dressed in a suit advertising something in loads of stores I went into. The weirdest thing I saw in Tokyo was on TV - the movie Mad Max dubbed into Japanese.

Rude words in modern music.

So as every white boy in the East End is aware, the new Roll Deep video filmed at the Old Blue last has been on YouTube for the last week or so. I like it - it is a good pop song. Even if there is a bit of some string arrangement from a Jethro Tull song and there are critter noises through it like Gremlins let loose in a department store. But I was a bit concerned when I listened to the "uncensored version" today from YouTube featuring London's number 1 look-a-like for Vanessa off Big Brother and a lot of bum.



Please tell me that this uncensored version is just a spoof? "Non-stop gash, penetrate that!" Ergh with what? A broom handle? How gross can you get? It is a good refrain but I feel like I shouldn't like it and be offended in a lesbo wimmins rights kind of way. Another song that made me feel bad was when I bought the 12" for Where's Da Hood At by DMX. Read this:

I actually took that record back to the Virgin Megastore on account of finding the lyrics offensive. I few weeks later I bought it again. Cause Paul and I discovered what is known as HomoHop. Check out this 'gueer', Johnny Dangerous from Chicago. Also self proclaimed faggot Dead Lee. And of course his official myspace page. So where was I - DMX and the 12". The moment that I changed my mind was when I saw the original video that came out. It was all these beefed up dudes in the prison yard totally oiled up in prison clothes and was one of the most homo erotic visions since I saw the Ropert Mapplethorpe exhibition in Sydney 13 years ago. So I figured for all I knew DMX was gay.

All this talk of being mean to each other and brapppppping all over the place with your little fake cowboy gun in the air makes me think of this nice taxi driver I had a little while ago. EDMX [not to be confused with the gay or not rapper above] and I were coming back from Stansted and our driver was a tiny little Jamaican grandfather. He was listening to beautiful old reggae love songs and singing along. Ed was asking him what he thought of this and that artist when the little man said "I don't like all that ragga with all that killing and guns and tings. All these stupid little boys talking about killing and treating women bad." Ed said that not all new stuff was like that, and the driver was saying "Lift your leg up?! This means get your gun!! All music for silly boys about killing and making trouble with dutty words." I was day dreaming out the window. The driver said "We are boring her talking about all this music."

Anyway, while I was looking unsucessfully for the original DMX video, I found this instead, full of dutty words and dutty women and great music. Don't bother looking at it, just listen to it.

I never thought I would...

Well I said I would never make a blog, but today I finally relented and here I am on the couch with my vile cold editing the template of my new blog.

Last night I went out with Roxy to Chalk, the night at the Scala with all the promise and potential but either I don't get wasted enough or the rooms are never quite full enough. Or hang on a minute... we are just in London. I was super excited cause my friend Teki Latex was gonna be there with his band TTC. Also playing was Kap Bambino who I have been dying to see live for a long time.

Last time I saw Teki was in Paris when he was hosting the last "New Jack Swing Bitch Ass Darius" Diamond Grills party put on by DJ's Goon and Koyote. I was there with Prolkoller who was nursing a broken heart and she had some deathly cold that weekend and so to cheer her up I was being totally retarded, getting more and more drunk, crazy dancing, rolling around on the stage and humping the speakers [Phillipa Cardinal didn't believe me when I told her this is my usual behaviour.] Teki did his usual "Now all the girls get up on stage and let me see you shake your ass routine" but being the faux female equlity dudette that I am, I decided to get a few guys on stage and make them dry hump me for comical effect. After doing so, Teki was giving the big ups to Lektrogirl and pointing and me, so I gave his finger fellatio to a cheering Parisian audience. However I think his girlfriend wasn't too thrilled. Hmmm... so where was I... yes, London. I had a t-shirt to give Teki from Bitch Ass Darius - one of the super hot NES Records t-shirts and a Katharine Hamnett LOVE t-shirt from the office. But thinking about it, Roxy and I realised we should have given TTC some of the limited edition LOVE and PEACE t-shirts that will be available on the website soon.

Through the haze of Benedryl cold and flu capsules, nasal sprays and cough sizzurp the TTC show was AMAZING!! Except for the fucking strobe light that pierced through my forehead right into my Occipital lobe where I had headache from a variety of reasons. They wiped the floor with JME who did a little showcase before them who was going on about MySpace like he invented it. TTC we so good in fact I missed going upstairs in time to catch Kap Bambino and all that was on by the time I got there was this revolting band that was excruciating to listen to. I had to wait for Roxy to weave her way up there in her Christian Louboutin's. Seriously how she does it I dunno.

So on the way out of the club, we saw XXCENSOREDXX from XXCENSOREDXX wearing on of the new Katharine E Hamnett t-shirt shapes we had biked over to XXCENSOREDXX on Friday afternoon for them to using as a buying sample. This is the equivalent of a producer walking into a nightclub hearing the master version of his/her new album that had been sent to the pressing plant the day before on the soundsystem as they walk in the door. It's a lot. A LOT. The t-shirts, with specially selected historical slogan is to be used for the front windows of XXCENSOREDXX. How the fuck this sample ended up on XXCENSOREDXX by Saturday night was beyond both Roxy and I!! We were both totally shocked. Roxy went up to XXCENSOREDXX and asked really politely where XXCENSOREDXX had got the sample from. XXCENSOREDXX replied "I work for Katharine Hamnett". Roxy said "No you don't, I work for her. Where did you get it from?" XXCENSOREDXX said "I know Katharine Hamnett." Which was a total lie straight in our face... Then we ran into Mollywood and Noriko who told us that last weekend they had huge arguments with XXCENSOREDXX as well. The whole encounter with XXCENSOREDXX turned prickly - she could have just told the truth and saved herself a lot of bother.

I'm sorry I have no cool pictures to accompany my first official solo blog - I haven't replaced my camera since my bag got nicked last week. Oh - I also saw Prancehall dancing to house music the other week.
